Group Role

Being the Visual Designer of CCA Architects, which involved finalizing the model and rendering the design for a presentation standard. I also found a niche within the group as a collaborator and mediator. While my main role was on hiatus until the design team presented me with a final model. I found myself being bombarded with numerous complaints and questions regarding the design and group collaboration. The original model chosen was from one of my previous assignments, I found that because of this the group members continually came to me for advice and approval for changes and details.

Another indication of my mediation was my personal friendships within the group. due to the individual connection of each group member I found that it was easier for each group member to come to me for advice or mediation rather than go to the groups project leader Hayley. I found that this was the case between architects Kate & Stephen. I received numerous emails, text messages and phone calls from both members about a dispute the two shared. I called myself the vice-president under Hayley and I used this to delegate tasks and pass vital information to Hayley.

A also lead the group in some cases while Hayley was absent.

My work in collaboration with Andy our web site designer was largely based upon furnishing the model and converting the ArchiCAD model into Artlantis. I had alot of GDl objects that I have sourced though endless hours of searching the web and incorporated them into the model. I was also tasked with the role of correcting all the little indescrepencies within the model. Tasks such as breaking the floor slab into individual sections and color coding the model for Artlantis. I feel that my performance in this role was good. While I was rushed in completing the tasks due to the lateness of the model completion I feel I rendered the model to a high standard.
